Through various year's, the kinds of candies people enjoyed were different and
came in different packaging. Let's read about some of the most important years
of candy evolution
1890:- Necco wafers were the first to get
introduced as the candies we know today. The first flavour they introduced was
clove. During those days, people were obsessed with these and they were sold in
huge quantities.
1960:- The popular candy during this era
looked more like gendered candy. The name said it's a boy and the shape looked
like a cigar. It tasted like error loops.
1963:- This year saw the origin of candy which
appeared like a three-layered rocket. The layers had three different tastes and
it tasted so yummy. The packaging though was a little hard to get through. It
was sold in millions.
1965:- Jelly Tots were one of the most
favourite candies during this time. They came in amazing flavours like lemon,
lime, black currant, orange and strawberry.
1970:- The summer of 1970 saw the
introduction of strawberry filled gums. It came only in one flavour.
1972:-
Pop rock dips were the ones introduced here. This one particularly
attracted a lot of crowds because it came with a tattoo. It didn't come in any
particular flavour though. It was just pure sugar. Another candy that was very
popular during this year was bottlecaps. It used to look like powdered candies.
And, they tasted exactly like cola.
1974:- Next in the 1970s came Gobstopper.
This became more popular because it was like one of those candies that would
last forever in your mouth.
1980:-
One of the most popular candies of this time was push pop. The packaging
was fun. And what more you could eat the same candy more than once. Yes, that's
true all you needed to do was just roll the candy back down and open the lid
whenever you want to eat the candy again.
1982:- Next big thing that came after push
pop was ring pops. This one proved that both the flavours and packaging in the
candy business were evolving. The push pop candy looked like rings and you could
wear it. Kids would collect all of the different kinds of ring pops.
1983:- This one saw the introduction of
caramel candy. The most popular one was caramel apple cow tail candy. This one
was a soft candy. The outer area was caramel with the inside being ten apple
flavour. It tastes exactly like a caramel apple with cream in the centre.
Conclusion:-
It took many
years for ten candies to evolve and look and taste like the way we eat them
today. And, with organisations like Kiwi foods and products like bomb blast
candy the evolution for achieving more and more amazing candies would continue.
